Ilina Schileru

Ilina Schileru is a Romanian artist, curator and cultural manager. She has a master's degree in graphics at the University of Arts in Bucharest, completed in 2010. She lives and works in Bucharest and is a member of UAP Romania. In 2011, she created the EBienale in association with the George Enescu Festival and Competition, which lasted 3 editions. Starting in 2021, Ilina is the coordinator of the MNTRplusC program, a contemporary art program under the auspices of the National Museum of the Romanian People, starting in April 2021. The MNTRplusC program presents international collaborations between the local Romanian scene and foreign and diaspora artists and curators. Collaborates with NGOs for the integration of Muslim immigrant and refugee children through art programs that they develop in collaboration with museums (Museum of Recent Art, MNAR, etc.)
Ilina works with galleries and artists from Bucharest (AnnArt, 418 Contemporan, ETAJ artist-tun space, Galateca, Artmark) and writes for ARTA Magazine, Propagarta (Romania) and No Niin (Helsinki, Finland).
In 2022 she was the curator of the collateral event for the Roma representation at the 59th edition of the Venice Biennale, organized by ERIAC (European Institute for Roma Art and Culture) from April 23 to November 27 2022.
