Ileana Stanciu Scripcariu

Ileana Stanciu Scripcariu (b. 2002) is a researcher and art critic interested in postwar art and architecture in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as in current practices of “museifying” the socialist past, viewed through an anthropological lens. Beyond historical research, her interests extend to contemporary visual art, its relationship with systems of power, the politics of representation and visibility, and curatorial practices that challenge these relationships. Over the past year, she received a scholarship from the ERSTE Foundation and worked as a cultural mediator for the Romanian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale; in December, she will join the cultural mediation team at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.
