Maria Persu

Maria Persu (born 2000) is an independent cultural researcher and a member of the editorial and artistic collective specula. She is currently working as a curatorial assistant at Suprainfinit Gallery in Bucharest, Romania. Maria holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (2021) from University College London. In December 2022, she graduated with distinction from the programme MSc Culture and Society at The London School of Economics, where she was awarded two Hobhouse Memorial prizes for best overall performance in the Sociology Masters programme and best overall performance with Distinction on her specific degree. Maria’s main research interests lie in urban sociology, the sociology of art, queer theory, STS, and more-than-representational research methodologies.
