#46-47 Romanian Artists from the Diaspora

“Nowadays we are living in a wide trans-national movement, in which every national culture has its own diaspora, something that leads to a redefinition and re-problematization of such concepts as the state, the nation, identity, territoriality.
How do Romanian artists adapt once they move abroad? Except for a few international stars, are migrant Romanian artists truly accepted by other cultures?
Has there been an evolution of their integration in the last two or three decades? What type of relationship (continuous, intermittent, oscillating, denying, etc.) do they still have with Romanian culture?
The dossier and other sections of the 46-47 issue of ARTA Magazine attempt to answer these questions and more.”
